||Conway Pines Senior Living Apartments
According to the NH Business Review, “The population age 65 and over will almost certainly double in the next two decades.” A recent Housing Supply and Demand study commissioned by the Mount Washington Valley Housing Coalition reports that the average age in Mount Washingtion Valley is 48.1, significantly higher than that of Maine, NH and the rest of the nation. Conway Pines Senior Living Apartments (CPSLA) has been proposed to address the need for high quality affordable senior housing for the local community. Nestled amongst mature pines, CPSLA is located just off Route 16, a short distance from Conway Village and many local services. The Shur Fine Shopping Plaza, with a grocery store, a bank, and many other retailers, is conveniently located directly across the street. The Blue Loon bus service will provide transportation services directly at the property.
The idea for
this project began to take shape during the construction of Conway
Pines Apartments, which is adjacent to CPSLA. Early on during
construction there was tremendous interest in the apartments
from local seniors. In fact, the majority of the one bedroom
apartments for Conway Pines Apartments are rented by seniors,
with more than a 2 year waiting list now in place. Coupled with
the demographics described above, it became quickly apparent
that there is a strong need for senior housing in Conway. Along
with being similar to Conway Pines Apartments in architectural
design, it is our intent to construct CPSLA as one of the “greenest” buildings in the valley. The building has been sited for optimal solar gain and it is our intent to once again explore geo thermal heating and cooling along with solar photovoltaic and other green features.
offer 36 very spacious one and two bedroom apartments. The building
will provide an elevator for handicap access to all floors. Many
of the units will have mountain views, especially in the winter
months. Along with laundry rooms on each floor, there are beautiful
community rooms for the enjoyment of the residents, an outdoor
terrace, and walking trails around the building.
